IR Length Question

So from all the recent IR discussion with the FM3, and Cliff’s recent comments about trimming IR length, I have a question about the Axe Fx 2 when it comes to Ultra Res and Normal Res settings in the cab block.
When the last Far Field can pack came out, I was under the impression that we couldn’t trim the IR lengths in the box unless we had an Axe fx 3. But wouldn’t setting the IR quality to Normal Res trim it to 1024 samples at 20 ms? And would it trim all other Ultra Res IR’s too? Please let me know why this is incorrect which I assume it is. Thanks everybody!

With a Reflection Free IR, you need to keep the length short enough to avoid the first reflection, and seeing 1024 points is enough to accurately reproduce the cab, Normal Rez is perfect. Be sure to add some Room Tone to it in additon to your desired Time Based FX for max realism.
