IR Capture quality versus Axe-Fx 2?

Is the af3 vs af2 ir capture quality the same? Or the af3 has any improvements? Just curious as I was going to make some
 
The IRs I've captured on the Axe 3 have been stellar. No idea how they compare to the 2 since I didn't capture this cab with the 2 at all.
 
Speaking of ir capture, just for personal understanding, is proximity faithfully captured in the ir? Or should I “artificially” add the proximity within the cab block?
