Bug? Input 1 L+R Sum

Bakerman

Axe-Master
With input 1 mode = L+R Sum, Input 1 left select = front, the Instr In and Input 1 levels in the I/O menu act like an interactive balance control for the entire (summed) signal. (Instr in level) - (Input 1 level) = balance.

Still occurring in FW 10.10. To hear this easily make the settings above, put the Axe into bypass and monitor Out 1 L/R. The signal's balance changes in an unexpected way.

So basicly all we need to do is either use Input 1 rear as left input or set both values to the same level to fix it?

The front input value has to be 75% of the Input 1 (rear) value, except at very low values. If you don't set them like that, realize that the mix of signals (not just balance), overall level and envelope detector response will change. That might be an advantage at times--you even out the level/response by turning up the input level for a quieter signal.

If you don't need pitch detection on In 1R in a scenario where you'd normally choose L+R sum, you might prefer stereo input mode & summing in the grid with a mixer/volume block, or amp/drive if present.
