...no clips yet; but will have some songs to share soon. Some covers, some originals. The Laura Wilkie Band.

Here's some pics - note the MFC at the feet with the Axe-FX II in the SKB 4-space rack at the lower left corner (tis me in the middle with the Tyler USA Variax) - Mark on the other guitar:

Once the stuff is done (I have one more overdub to finish tomorrow here at home and get up). They have to finish the vocals.

The other guitarist will be laying down his tracks and doing direct versions of them so we can re-amp them. Sean is our keyboardist (and a fantastic guitarist to boot) and engineer here (it is his studio) and wants to do a tone session where I bring the II down and we craft tones with Mark during mix down. Very cool.

Here's Sean (included because the photo cracks me up):

Next gig is November 11 at Firekeeper's Casino in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Cool! I bet the post session with the II will be fun and very interesting. Keep us informed!

Thanks for your contributions, don

We took XLR out of the Axe-FX II for this into the board.

For overdubs here at my home studio I am running USB direct into Reaper and then putting the raw tracks up (24bit and converted to 44.1kHz) on an FTP for Sean to grab and drop in.

For guitars I am running my PRS Custom 22, James Tyler/Line 6 USA JTV59, and Melancon Custom Artist. Acoustic guitar is my Taylor K16ce. For the acoustic I am using a Mojave Tube mic (I built it from a kit 10 or so years ago; also built the power supply for it from the kit... it uses an ammo box as the housing. It's very cool) direct into my Lexicon U-22 USB. Sounds pretty good just from the raw tracks.

I am using some Fender Princeton, Fender Twin, Cameron Channel 2 and Trainwreck based amp blocks in the II.

Having fun!

The MFC, Axe II, and all the sweet guitars are nice and all...

but lets heat more about Laura! :p

Looking forward to hearing the clips!

uh hey baby come to butthead! (not you scott)

Scott, do you ever play in Detroit area?

Yes. We have two shows December 11 and 12 at the "Recovery Room" in Warren, MI. She's booking gigs for 2012 and we'll be out there all over MI/OH it seems. She does the Detroit Hoedown at Hart Plaza every year too.

Just tell her and the band you need to branch out a litte! :)

BTW... what's your opinion of the SKB rack case? I just bought a small SKB waterproof case for a video camera and its nice and sturdy.

That SKB has been with me since the early 90's (very early 90's)... it's been through the wars with me and dragged all over my little world for over 20 years. It's doing fine. I also have a 6 space that is the same era; they are 'original' series from when most folks were still using wood racks and SKB was the new guy in town with the new-fangled plastic. They've more than stood the test of time for me.

Congrats Scott, when will you play in Italy????? ;-)

I'd love to! Book her there and I'll buy you a beer! :D

Scott, how do you like the J Tyler Variax? How/when do you use it?

Thanks

That's coming in time - I've a full review of that and the II together. Incredible tool for live work, instantly useful and makes me marketable as a guitarist - acoustic to electric in the same song... I can do the role of a few guitars inside a song essentially. It's powerful versatile. More on another thread, at another time. Soon.
