I run avast on my pc and I keep getting a possiable virus issue when updating axe edit, It says it finds something called cyber shot or cyber capture i cant find the name again. But anyways I had to turn of the virus sheild to update axe edit. any one else have this issue or can explain what this is?

Possible cause: AV software uses both 1-1 matches and heuristics to guess when something might be malicious code. The heuristic guesses can lead to false positives. It doesn't happen that often, but for instance I think I also remember some Line6 installer tripping up some AV programs a few years ago.

I was just wondering if there was a tracking file or something in the download as it said it was a rare find. I did turn of avast and it did install and ran fine. I then turned avast back on a ran a smart scan and it found nothing, but just it was a surprise to get that pop up from avast and it has never happened before.

Please contact Avast to report a False Positive. This goes for any other file falsely detected by an AV product - contact the AV vendor to report the False Positive. I work in the industry and we recently had a user contact us via Facebook to report a False Positive that they had mentioned on software company's forum like this one about a month earlier. Had they contacted us rather than asking about it on the software company forum it would have been fixed a month earlier.

Okay, I replaced the word "complaining" in my earlier post. The point is that you should be asking the AV vendor about the file being detected, not the company that created the software. In the vast majority of cases, files that have been downloaded from a trusted source that are detected by AV software are the result of a False Positive.

Same thing happened to me (I have the free version of Avast Antivirus). I just selected "Run Anyway", then it let me install Axe-Edit with no more interference.

BTW, that feature is called "CyberCapture", and is described as this:

"CyberCapture analyses unrecognized files, defends and warns you about new threats, and help keeps your system secure."

You can find it by opening your Avast Antivirus and selecting "Settings". On that page you can choose to let CyberCapture either always block unknown files, or to allow you to decide. Or you can simply disable the feature.

You can read more about CyberCapture here:
