I have a chance to buy a friend's SR655 at a nice price. I'm a guitar player, and I'm limited to one bass at the moment, so I want it to be as versatile as possible. I currently have a MIM Deluxe Active Jazz V, that I'm on the fence about.
So here's my assessment:
Pros--lightweight, comfortable, wide variety of sounds available, plays and sounds good.
Cons--looks like an Ibanez SR bass. You know what I mean. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just that I can't imagine it looking at home in a classic rock or country band. It looks perfectly placed in a church band, which, admittedly, is where it would get most of its use, outside of my home studio.
Am I being shallow?
