I want to use my fM9 as an audio interface

Want to use laptop, FM9, and FRFR to audition tone.net tones via Amplitube 5
Lost my iRig connector so I can’t go straight into my laptop from the guitar.

I read through the USB section of the FM9 manual. I see where it indicates the connections for recording and playback. I’m not recording so I presume I want to use the playback connections.

Can I accomplish this: guitar into fractal input > use a blank patch that just passes my guitar signal> use the USB out (like you would using axe exit) to the laptop USB > use the amplitube patch and send it back to the fm9 > normal output of FM9 to FRFR speaker?

It’s the 2nd to last step that I’m not sure about. It needs to be bi directional...

In the I/O setup I know I need to make changes there but it’s not clear how.

Right now A5 doesn’t see a signal in the input meter

Any help is appreciated

It's simpler than that. There's no need to use a special preset.

1) Set your input usb channels on your DAW track where you have Amplitube inserted to 5/6
2) Turn on input monitoring on the track
3) Axe-FX I/O settings -> Output 1 mode: Mute

Play guitar through Amplitube.

For details, see the "Monitor Through DAW" topic in the recording guide.

So before I got this I was able to get the signal through the FM9. I was still getting the raw signal coming through and I think 3) above will address that

Thanks!
