Hey.
I am looking for a midi controler, which looks kind of like this:

Very compact. Only buttons and knobs.
I've found quite a few that look like this, but they are all USB only.
I am looking for something that has 5 Pin MIDI out, not USB.
I can't seem to find a unit like that.

The idea is to use a Wireless midi adapter, so the device can be used as a wireless mixer, that can be passed around to each band member to set their headphone mix, and a song selector/player.
If anyone has any ideas on how to make a wireless USB connection, or they know of a unit that is designed to be wireless in the first place, that would also work.
 
What mixer do you plan to use this with?
And how would you power it?

I think you'll be much better with a phone/tablet and app for your mixer, it works well for us (x32r).
 
I'd still look into a tablet option, personally.
Check out touchosc software for remote control of heaps of things (including reaper).
I know you want midi, but I still don't know how you will power it wirelessly.
 
Good idea. Just so you know, a wireless midi device would need to be getting power from the midi controller it was connected to, so although your other idea was cool I'm not sure it would have worked because you would have to be tethered to a power supply of some sort.
