Humbuster output question

I've got a parallel FX loop that doesn't have a footswitch jack to bypass; the FX return jack is a shorting jack that switches it out of the path when the cable is unplugged. I've tested it, and this works remotely from a true bypass switcher as well.

Question: if I build a passive TRS in to TRS out bypass box (maybe with a relay switch instead of a footswitch, so I can automate it), and used a short TRS cable from the FX8 OUT [POST] jack, and then a Humbuster to my amp's FX return, would I retain the special sauce benefits of the Humbuster output? I don't have the FX8 yet or else I would have tested this already.

(More info on why I'd bother: my parallel loop "features" a touch of tone suck even though it is tube buffered. The dry tone changes slightly even when using just a simple jumper. I only plan on using it with the amp's lead channel, and I'd like to switch it off completely for clean channel patches, without having to mod the amp with an extra relay).
