Has anyone tried the PP3+ using a current doubler with two 9V 500mA ports? (I know that's not supposed to be enough mA, but I heard some power supplies actually provide more than the 500mA that they list)
If that's not enough, I saw a current tripler cable online at West Coast Pedalboard so I could combine three 9V 500mA ports. Should this work?
(I know some people are using the X Link port, which I have been using too, but I am having ground loop issues and I think it might be because the X Link port isn't isolated)
Thanks for your reply! I've finally had a chance to do some tests. It did very much seem like the VP4's power source was to blame because as soon as I unplugged the VP4 the hum would go away, but your post led me to look elsewhere too. I have no idea why but I found that removing a right angle 1/4" adapter from another pedal did the trick so now I have the VP4 working and no hum!I have not, but I am using the X link port and I am running full wet, dry, wet with multiple dedicated pre & post effects units and I’m not getting any ground loops. Does your ground loop stop the moment you unplugged the X link port?
I'm doing a PP3+ with a parallel daisy chain cable (think PCS20A) plugged into three ports. Works great, no issues whatsoever.Has anyone tried the PP3+ using a current doubler with two 9V 500mA ports? Your using more than 20 Ahrs (20,000 mAh) on your pedal board?so it does work with my cioks 4 and a power bank (20000mha, I may want to double that).. got the splitter cable where it uses two ports on the cioks 4 and seems to have no issues..
I dunno.. but it worked fineYour using more than 20 Ahrs (20,000 mAh) on your pedal board?
The PP3 can also send 2A at 12v out of one of the X-link’s - just don’t use the other one. From the Pedal Power 3 Plus manual, it looks like you can use the 12v X-Link to power high current 12v pedals. If the VP4 needs 1.3 A at 9V, that's just under an amp at 12v.
