The "this" being the OD 808.
So I broke down an bought an OD808 and did a tone match with FAS Boost. Here are my settings for FAS Boost to have a similar tonality to the OD808 set with drive at 9:00, tone at 1:30, balance dimed.
Drive: 2
Tone: 7
Level: 10
Low cut 330
High cut 1550
Bass -2
Mid +5
Mid Freq: 350.1
Treble +2
The OD808 has a subbass bump that I can't replicate within the drive block with FAS Boost, but it's really not necessary to get the tonality correct. Compression characteristics are not the same between the two, the OD808 sounds more compressed, but I'm going to play around with TS808 and TS808 Mod and compare it to the OD808 and see if I can get closer. At any rate, these settings for FAS Boost sound really good with the Recto and 5150 presets I have currently setup.
...if you've got an 808, why kill yourself trying to get the AFX to sound like it? Just use the 808?

Also, in my experience, the actual 808 sounded less compressed. I was using a different amp model though so who knows?
Because I don't want to have to fool with switching my MFC-101 as well as the 808 when going from distortion to clean, which I do often. I could buy an RJM Mini Effects Gizmo to automate the switching, but it's really not worth it to me. Using the FX Loop to put the 808 in isn't an option either, as I use the FX Loop to drive my power amp and 4x12 cab and run line level with cab sim on output 1 to FOH.
They have off switches?
