How to convert stereo IR .wav files to mono?

I've got several stereo IR .wav files from Guitar Hack.

CabLab doesn't convert them.

Is there some pre-processing that I can do to convert these to mono?

And does a mono conversion change the resulting sound?

Try loading them in a sound editor and saving the L and R channels as mono .wav files; also try mixing/converting it from stereo to mono. Then convert w/Cab Lab, and demo each to see if there's a difference, and if so, which one sounds better?

If you don't have an audio editor, you can try the free app Audacity that's available for Windows, Mac and Linux: Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder

To clarify...

I have been a Pro Tools user for years and I know how to split a stereo .wav into L / R. :)

I'm wondering about converting to mono.

What is the procedure?

Do I bounce the stereo IR.wav to a mono IR.wav as if it were audio?

I know an IR.wav file is not audio, so I wasn't sure if there was something special to do in regards to stereo to mono?

I use Audacity to convert Stereo wav files to to mono.
Click the [TRACKS] tab then select 'Stereo track to mono'.

You can also convert multiple files (16-44, 24-44, ect) to 24bit-48Hz wavs
for use with AxeOmatic with Audacity too. It works great and its free.
