Hey guys, here's the patch. I used the U010_CK USA Trad SM57-MD421 01.syx cab from Cab Pack 7. That's my go-to cab for all of my tones.

guys just a heads up - external 3 is tied to cab volume, so you might want to unlink that otherwise you might not hear anything!

so is this recorded in drop c? (i understand that to mean the whole guitar is tuned down a tone and then the bottom string is tuned down another tone. so bottom to top would be c, g, c, f, a, d)

Yes. My band Threat Signal primarily plays in this tuning, so I just transposed the song to that. It's originally played in C standard.

I would try stereo cabs and look for Mesa Rectifier 4x12s (USA Trad) with the same mics as indicated in the name. There are certainly plenty to pick from... your choice of 73/74 would be my first pick as well as those are the same cab and taken from the same pack.

I used cabs F73 and F74 panned hard right and left... sounded glorious with my Strat.

Here are my changes.

I also move the gate to after the amp block.

I prefer this to not affect the way I'm hitting the amp with the gate.

Awesome tone! Thank you for sharing. I saw "Train of Thought" live in Seoul, Korea and what amazed me about the Petrucci's tone is, it sounded just like the album. Your tone sounds spot on. Does anyone know if John actually used a drive pedal to achieve this tone?
