I have 9, in order of acquisition (my age in parentheses).

- Ibanez Artist Les Paul copy (15)
- Yamaha Acoustic (22)
- Carvin Bass (35)
- PRS CE-24 (38)
- Gretsch Country Gentlemen JR (44)
- Jeff Beck Strat (49)
- PRS Stripped 245 Single cut (50)
- Nashville American Tele w/ bender (53)
- GE Smith Tele (54)

I have had some others in the interim but sold them. I play the Strat, PRS single cut and Teles the most. CE-24 the least, but only because I have almost worn out the frets on it. Bought all the ones from the Gretsch on used.

6 guitars, 1 Bass
Les Paul Custom
EJ Strat
Suhr Modern
JT Variax
PRS SE Angelus Acoustic
Ibanez classical
Fender Jazz
I tend to only keep those with a specific use/sound, and I cull the others from herd. I don't keep guitars if I don't have a specific use for them.

I have 20+, but I'd need to conduct an official census to figure out the exact number. A few years ago I bought a guitar while on tour; when I got home my wife picked me up at the airport and we immediately went out to dinner with friends. I was carrying the new guitar in a gig bag, so it was undeniable. The following conversation occurred in the car:
My wife : "did you buy a guitar on the road?"
Me: "yes"
Friends : "how many guitars do you own?"
Me : "...um... I think 15..."
My wife, bewildered : "you don't know how many guitars you own?"
Me : "do you?"

Unfortunately, she did :)
