How do you get this tone?

I see he has an Axe and it looks like he's playing through it. Go to 2:25. How does it get that barking sound on the low notes?

It's just a low F# (or E), with a nice tense string. Not much to it - although I'd love to know exactly what he's doing with the EQ.

That's just a low tuning with a Djent type tone..... sounds cool!

haha.. I know what the notes are. I play a 9-string. I'm wondering how he gets that tone. What kind of amp, EQ, etc.?

Use a parametric equalizer, boost up the 1.4khz frequency. That's where that metallic djenty sound comes from. Add some compression with a really fast attack. Use a high gain amp but lower the gain to get a nice clear sound.

pickups play a big role in the tones you hear. try boosting high mids before the amp.
