Hoping to get amp/cab captures in Fractal gear in the future, does that appeal to anyone?

So recently I tried the tonex brown sound pack and I’m blown away.. i usually hate tonex stuff. But this is insane. I tried recreating this sound on the fm3 for a year and a half with no luck. Hundreds of thousands of people have been trying to recreate eddies tone for decades now. And tonex of all people pulled it off.
Anyways, I’m hoping to see amp with cab captures in the future for fractal because that would absolutely change the game. A downloadable amp/cab block that you can drop in? It makes for such easy plug and play. Which would appeal to a much much broader audience. You’d have the best of both worlds. What do you guys think?

In the sense that my FM3 feels like a swiss army knife, a capture block would be a welcome addition. I also wouldn't care if they didn't have one in the future either as I see Fractal's approach to digital gear to be fundamentally different compared to others. I find searching for captures similar to IR auditioning (not fun or inspiring) and I'm not looking to pay for tone packages either. I'm not closed to the idea though, because I could just never use it and more options the merrier.

i wouldn't say no =) but it's not needed in my opinion, just a few trains of thought on this

quad cortex /nano cortex probably has the easiest to use capture tech out there, it's all in the same hardware which is cool, the cortex cloud is littered with loads of captures ranging from really good/average to maybe even bad, it's inevitable when you have that many users/captures possible , I see a lot of users either using captures or plugins in the QC as well, the 'stock' offering is not that big compared to Fractal even Line6

the issue with a huge library of captures for me at least is that the option paralysis is worse as you're trying to sift through captures to find 'a better capture' it's not a case of dialing in something from the ground up and perfecting that tone, it's why I didn't get on with Kemper way back when

however, it is cool when you're able to capture other equipment that you own, i really like the captures of the amps i own for example on Tonex and also Nano Cortex , however the irony is i've captured my FM3 as well for use on the Nano Cortex as a backup =)

I'd honestly rather continued/more development into the amp modelling space/effects than expanding into a currently quite saturated marketplace if that makes sense (the amount of even budget units with NAM/conversion or capture tech etc..)

Hundreds of thousands? Ok...gonna need a source for that. Multiple people have created very convincing VH tones with Fractal products. If you prefer the ToneX, use the ToneX, which is proprietary and likely not to be included in future hardware.
For $1200 spent I definitely prefer the fm3. lol I’m just shocked to see tonex have such an incredible leap forward with the new captures and feel fractal would do well adopting a capture feature. Like the previous guy said very well, it’s a Swiss Army knife. Would be fitting to add more options. As far as updating existing blocks goes with every new FW, eventually any company like fractal has to move forward with something new in the future and I think this could be viable as a great option.

The issue with capture is it's good at capturing a snapshot of a particular sound but start moving the knobs and it's not responding the way it should.
We know it's not possible with the current generation and nobody knows what the FAS has in stock for the next. I'm sure they've at least explored the option.

Personally, i'm more interested in crafting my own sound than trying to sound like X or Y, but I understand the need for people who do a lot of covers.

I totally get that. I think a way to combat this would definitely not have a library open to public on fractals end. Maybe just a public forum or axe change would be a good option for user captures. But for fractal, a gift of tone-esque idea or already preloaded captures that they approve on would be amazing. I’m just finding that captures are sounding better to most. And Im starting to fall into that category. But I absolutely love my fm3 and just want the best of both worlds.

Which is it? You say not open to the public and list two public sites.

and people would complain

Do you? Your post history is shilling for the ToneX Brown Sound pack.
i got the fm3 specifically to recreate the brown sound. The problem is with every update my preset drastically changes. And quite honestly it never nailed it just right.. it got in the realm but never exact. I’ve always had a major dislike for anything by IK multimedia like amplitube, tone x, etc. the gain staging always caused me some major issues. And I ended up deleting all of my purchases from them.. but heard about the pack & redownloaded and fired up the brown sound and tonex and it is the exact tone I’ve been searching for all these years! No tweaking, no eq’ing, no endless search for the right ir. It’s sounds and feels so amp like. Which is what I could never get from the fm3. I don’t know.. never expected it to sound so damn perfect. On the fence about selling my fm3 if the tone x captures are getting this good lol

I have zero interest in capture being part of my AxeFXIII.

Captures are to modeling like a long list of IRs is to dynacabs. I prefer to twist virtual knobs to dial in an amp model than to audition a bunch of 3rd party captures which were not made with my guitar, pickups, playing style etc.

I am not trying to specifically match anyone else's exact tone so perhaps that's why I lack the motivation you do. Even if I were interested in playing a bunch of cover songs I can't imagine not getting "close enough" with Fractal modeling of Amps and effects... especially for the level of jamming/gigging I might do.

Ability to capture or use nam profiles would be great, this would solve in an instant the incessant requests for "amp type x" to be added, please ADAMP1... ad nauseum. A long time ago IIRC Cliff said he had something way better than Kemper, and was waiting on patents to end or something. Nothing ever became of it for whatever reason.

If you don't want it, please move on, crapping on other peoples want's is doing nothing productive. Don't want it don't use it.

Is it my imagination, or is the Tonex shill squad working overtime here? Just asking...
Are we really supposed to pick and defend modelers like sports team though ? If competitors are coming up with better and better tech maybe that should encourage looking into it instead of burying our heads in the sand and calling everyone who thinks a different tech is good a shill ?
