Here's a NYC doctor on the front lines who is one who decides which patients get ventilators. He thinks it is primarily transmitted through contact, not the aerosols but rather via droplets on surfaces or sprayed (e.g. coughing, sneezing, spitting procedures). He doesn't quote sources but is pretty sure.

 
virus experts talk of false peaks.. the first peak... the the dead cat bounces to 1 if its 9 lives.
China is going to lie about thier second peak... out if national security. We need to have financial effects..that are in common.

Even if you're not from New York, if you want to learn what's going on, skip the daily federal press briefing and watch the New York Governor's press briefing instead. The federal press briefings have been face-palm dangerously ill-informed. I was reading about a radio station yesterday that announced they would no longer broadcast the federal press briefings for fear of endangering the public. The New York Governor's briefings on the other hand, give out useful and accurate information.
 
I got out of work early today... Stopped in to talk to the parents... outside, 30ft away, and down wind 😉.

And if it's a damm lotto tickets.. I'm going to flip.
I already contacted these bastards about my lotto addicted father.. and they wont stop selling tickets.. and he's always feared.. the 1 time he doesn't buy $30 of each Powerball and Mega Millions... plus his $50 in scratch offs... which I'm sure hell will buy $100 tickets today.... his numbers will come in.... And I stop over almost every day for a few... I been working till 6-7 lately.

And that's why... you better just retire at 60.. and spend your money on a 35ft Trawler... and start touring the Great Loop....
 
He talked my mother into him doing yard work.. picking up sticks in the backyard that's 50% bare grass and the other is slick topsoil... and him taking it to the dump... and it's been 2 hours.
And he will say he wore gloves and a mask... to get lotto tickets. Because my father would rather die than get locked up with my mother

Amen. Let's hope more realize the same thing and begin blacking them out. They ARE dangerous!

I have watched several of Governor Cuomo's press briefings, very impressive indeed. No BS, well informed and well spoken. The man knows how to take charge. I just wish he would get all the support he needs, as well as all the other leaders of the other states.

Here in Ontario, the Premier, Doug Ford, is a conservative. Another politician born with a silver spoon in his <insert orifice>, but I have to give him a lot of credit. He holds a press briefing everyday, surrounded by experts that he trusts and more importantly, he listens to! He is well spoken, well informed, stern, yet compassionate. He has absolutely taken charge of the situation in Ontario and has backed it up with every option he has in his power. He has constantly said he will spare no expense for the health and well being of every resident of Ontario. He has formed alliances with manufacturer's and they are all stepping up to the plate to produce ventilators, sanitizers and P.P.E. He's increasing testing and doing many other things to help us get through this.

Yesterday a 'boutique grocery store' in Toronto, was caught red-handed by someone on social media, selling 1 container of Lysol wipes for $29.99 (Costco sells 6 containers for the same price). The premier called them out by name, on live television and told them he is coming after them and every other price gouging store in Ontario. He was pissed and rightly so. As a resident watching this, it's reassuring to watch someone take charge and lead, not just by word, but by actions!

I will always give credit where credit is due and this Premier and Governor Cuomo, deserve a lot of credit right now!

The Immortal Wound... my next book.

It's about WW3 will not be recognized and thier will be no benefit from any response. China inflicts a Immortal wound upon itself to bring down the world. Thier system works off suppression.. long before the days of the chopstick. And the world growing around it like a virus... becoming more of a threat as it develops. So they knock themselves down 50 yrs, and the rest of the world 100 yrs. And the worlds average standard of living stabilizes... ending the lavishness of the western world that forces a change away from a democratic republic into The Socialist DR... and China becomes safe again... and the West ends up happily ever after. A home with 8 phones, 6 TVs, becomes a 2 tv home... and we decide to keep our phones, and end up loosing weight.

I'm sure it will get shot down since it's not as depressing as the some of other projections that get thrown about, but it actually takes into account social distancing measures that have been put into place. Of course, this data assumes people will abide by those restrictions, and probably assumes that social distancing will continue and not get arbitrarily shut off on Easter.

Edit: 80000+ deaths is still depressing. Just not as depressing as millions.

According to Cuomo: NY state needs 20 million N-95 masks, 30 million surgical masks, 45 million exam gloves, 20 million gowns and 30,000 ventilators, all astronomical amounts compared to New York’s current stockpile.

Trump: "I don’t believe you need 40,000 or 30,000 ventilators.”

[Non-political observation] Trump simply doesn't/can't understand exponential growth. He sees NY not yet utilizing X ventilators and can only imagine X going up a little at most and manageably. This is elementary school level thinking.

Most of us get now that this is not manageable without getting ahead of it as much as possible and we're already very behind it. In 2-4 weeks it will be really, really bad in NYC with surges elsewhere in the states.

I came up with a similar range of potential deaths, 31,352 to 155,886 (the light orange area on the total deaths map for USA).

Difference is my projections were scribbled on a napkin using grade school math with a simple limit that all infections stop by April 3. Here's that post: https://forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/help-the-fight-against-covid-19.159129/page-90#post-1910725

Not to conflate my results with theirs, but I'm having a hard time thinking their scenario will be the one that plays out.
 
Italy reports 969 new deaths in one day.
Italy's population is ~30 million.
US population is 10x that.

Just heard that the Defense Production Act has finally been invoked.
General Motors is under order to build ventilators.
The order is being accompanied by Twitter insults.

Biting the hand you're telling to feed you????
