Bug? Help - FC6 keeps changing layout!

I’m having a brand new issue. FM3 connected to FC6 in same exact configuration and preset I’ve used for multiple Sundays. Except this Sunday, the FC6 keeps sending a message to put the FM3 in layout 1. You can see the FM3 registering an incoming layout change message at random times (very frequently).

Very big problem when you go to change a scene and a split second before you do, the FC6 puts the FM3 in preset layout and you change presets instead. Changed out xlr and still same behavior. It’s with the FC6? Port on the FM3? Any thoughts on what is happening?
 
There's a known bug on the FM9 for this issue that is being worked on.

I haven't seen anyone post about this issue on the FM3, but it may be similar...

The brains of the FCs are in the the modeler, so not likely a bug with the FC-6 itself.
