Hi Fractals,

We're about to record some tracks soon. Is it possible to use the Blue Mo-Fi as an accurate Reference Monitor for recording? Thanks!

I use the Mo-Fis just for playing quietly in the house (when I have to - rare).

IMO, I'm not a fan of headphones in general for emulating speakers (near-fields or not) ... too many "unrealistic" issues like sound stage and other characteristics that headphones generate in general for mixing that won't let you get an optimal mix. Look at any commercial studio and notice all the various speakers about the desk (full range in the walls, near-fields, or even auralex or NS10's) - headphones have a use for close scrutiny of tracks, but it's only one tool of many at your disposal. Get some quality monitors that you "know" (learn) how they translate to so many other environments.

I use a headphone amplifier, but I'm sure the axe can drive it as well. It sounds fine on my iPhone just not as loud.

Isn't the goal for speakers/headphones a flat response, regardless of source?

Yep. That and fast transient response, no resonances, no harmonic or inter-modulation distortion, no compression of dynamic range..
