I put a 500T in my les paul classic and it sounds better for my use case now. The low strings really struggled harmonically for whatever reason, now it sounds as it should. I was worried it would be too hot, but maybe because it’s chambered it sounds like Hot PAF to me . Success!

I was too. I honestly suspect it’s to do with the fact the guitar is chambered. The 498T in my 96 standard is the first time I have really liked that pickup at all too.

Some pickups do work only on certain guitars.

put a JB in the bridge of my 2008 (Supposedly MIJ according to serial# guide) Jackson DK2 Dinky replacing the "Duncan Designed" humbucker. Middle / neck pickups, tone control, and switch now disabled making the guitar a baretta style. Was trying to sell it before the swap, now a one trick keeper.
