Guitar Stands

Hi
I'm coming to the end of my man cave project and now starting to think about furnishings.

I have approx 9 electric guitars and 1 acoustic, previously I used hercules brackets on the wall
for storage and access however the new man cave is a loft type room with mostly slopping walls.

So started looking at multi racks and there are a few different types out there .

Has anybody got any advice from experience on what to avoid,
A lot of these stand are collapsable , so are they sturdy ?

Cheers

I have the Hercules 3 -- hasn't failed me yet. Easy to set up, transport, etc. Nicely built and not super expensive.

Specifically: https://www.stringswing.com/slatwall-displays/

I also have https://www.stringswing.com/guitar-floor-rack-hardwood/ which is a lovely stand, but the slatwall has replaced it and its in a kid's room now holding their guitars.

Edit: I also hate the Hercules auto-grabbing system. I had a 2-guitar stand from them that lasted maybe 6 months of gigging before that grabber mechanism broke. Simple is better for gigging stands. I use http://www.ultimatesupport.com/gs-100.html now for an on-the-floor stand. Folds up tiny. Sturdy when deployed. And cheap enough that IDGAF when it fails and I have to get a new one.

Hi
awesome feedback , see the floor stand multi racks a lot don't seem to have dividers on the base to segregate the guitars,
I assume the people who have these racks haven't found a problem.

I'm scared of guitar collision , any thoughts

Hi @waylander69
One thing most mancaves lack is floor space - guitars look great on the wall, and you won’t knock them against each other. Make yourself a guitar wall and enjoy the floor space!
Thanks

You just have to be careful not to knock them together.

Both brands of floor stand multi racks I own have foam tube dividers on the bottom. If spaced appropriately they do help keep the guitars apart but don't really shield the guitars on the sides. Low speed guitar insertion and removal will ensure that any clanking together of guitars will not result in damage. It's amazing how compact the storage is for these units. Now storing the guitar cases and shipping boxes, that needs a freight car!
