Great modern Keith Richards tone?

Has anyone nailed a good modern, yet bright and spongy Keith tone?

I'm looking for a quality modern-day version of a Jumpin Jack Flash tone, or anything other good Keith-ish tones for that matter.

Any input would be hugely appreciated. =)

I have not tried it on the Axe yet -- but a Tweed Twin Deluxe or even the Fender Deluxe Reverb (in the non-vibrato channel (no reverb) with the volume at 6-7 Bass and treble between 3 and 3.5 nails the classic Keith Richard's tone.

Loose the low E string on your guitar (optional) and tune to open G and you are done (DGDGBD)

Your tone should be spot on!

FYI -- the riff on "Satisfaction" is done with a Gibson Maestro fuzzbox

also Keith early on used the dual Showman extensively - in the 70's he used Ampeg V-4 and V-2's and now he is back to his roots (Tweed Twin Deluxe) which produces his signature tone.

Basically experiment with the Tweed amps and open tuning.

Hope this helps!

Here is an example of what I am looking for - an isolated track of Keith in "Can't You Hear Me Knocking?" (what a cool find anyway, huh? = )

I am a fan of vintage Fender amps and KR. :mrgreen

with my old band we used to do a lot of stones tunes. I had one tele setup specifically for the Stones covers.

Thanks LVC, appreciate your input. Can't wait to try your ideas.

One thing I forgot to mention -- since you already have the guitar track isolated you can do a tone match
