Got some tubes

Anyone familiar with these tubes? I think some can be used in guitar amps (12xx7, 5U4GB), others in audio or radios? They were in my dad's house after he passed and I cataloged them. Thanks

Seems audio tubes. Some of them are interesting... you can built a circuit around the tubes, but should tube fails you have to trash the entire effect... or try to find another tube.... if you want check voltage and socketing, have a look at the datasheets (ie https://frank.pocnet.net/index.html).

Another useful use... could Cliff modeling... give us a taste of unique tubes in the Axefx amp & drive blocks.... ;)

5U4 is pretty useless as well nowadays (unless you own some older amps that used them, or some Mesa Boogie amps which use them for marketing purposes). People attribute magical properties to tube rectifiers, but the equivalent circuit is just a couple of diodes and a wirewound resistor. It'll give you the sag, just like the tube, except you'll be able to turn it off by shunting the resistor, and it doesn't draw 15W just for the heater.

Pretty nice haul. There's lots of collectors and vintage electronics restorers out there that would likely be interested, especially if they are unused and still in the box. NOS American made tubes are getting more and more rare.

The 12AT, AV, AU are all used in amps. People would be interested in those. They are lower gain tubes that are used for reverbs and phase inverters. The 12AX7's are the main preamp tubes for most amps If you had a bunch of those, you'd have quite a haul. None of those other numbers really jump out at me, but you never know. People get creative on output tubes.

Edit: Just randomly pulling one of the numbers, 6CM6, it's beam power tube. 9 pin miniature like an EL84. It says see 6V6 curve charts in the data sheet. That might be a winner right there.

Also BTW NOS tubes, depending on age and brand, could be worth quite a bit of cash. Some people think they "sound better", which is horseshit, of course, but hey, to paraphrase, the "sound" is in the ear of the listener. A $100 tube will quite possibly sound better if you're told it was $100, just like those silver wire "danceable" power cables and wooden volume knobs. So check what they sell for on the 'bay.
