Good Case for AX8 ??

Dolly is the way to go, if there are no nasty steps or airports to get in the way. I hope the backpack mode serves you well when you fly.
Me too! I just flew to Aruba from Northern Cali, but I didn't take it. It would have been a good test. With two carry-ons and a guitar in an ATA with one suitcase in luggage it's doable.

I just got a gewa mixer case and it's excellent, it takes the unit plus a Roland ev5,all my cables and 2 guitar stands, just have this bag and my guitar and im ready to gig is a great case and so light on my shoulder

SKB has a footcontroller soft case that will work for the AX8. I cannot post a link yet, as I need 10 posts, but you can copy this URL from Amazon: Amazon product ASIN B004H1RY52 Someone posted a customer review and said that it will fit the AX8 (see second picture below). The SKB model number is: 1SKB-SC2111. Also, the Amazon description says it's 3 inches in depth, but it's closer to 4 inches. I do own one, and it does the job. Have a great evening!

P. S. Looks like the link works anyway

How brutal was it getting your EV-1 to fit? I had that case briefly (SKB 2111), and I couldn't get the pedal to fit without crushing some foam.

Hi Rex, that bottom picture was from an Amazon consumer reviewer. I don't have an EV-1, but I do use a Dunlop Wah, which fits, but it's smaller than the EV-1. Looks like the new Fractal EV-2 compact pedal would fit ok.

Interesting. I returned the SKB for two reasons:

1) There was no way to get the EV-1 to fit with the AX8.

2) The case was advertised as 4" deep. On the shipping box, it's listed as 3-3/4" deep. That last number is the true depth, and I had to force the case closed, with the AX8's "handle" making the top bulge out, to get it to zip up. The foam there is pretty thin, and it felt like I was overstressing it.

I actually have the FX8, and the handle is about 4 1/4 " long, and it does hit the case lid, but not too bad, and closes without much of a bulge. I can see where the AX8 would be a worse fit, as the handle is twice as long. What case are you using now?

I'm using a Ridgid case from Home Depot. A VERY SMALL amount of padding needs to be added to the interior to keep the AX8 from moving around inside, but not much... Honestly, no padding would need added and if this were the situation, it would still be fine. It would just rattle back and forth a little bit. Which is unnerving and not what I wanted.

There isn't enough room for an expression pedal. But I can easily fit two 10' XLR cables and the power cable next to the AX8.

This thing is indeed rigid. God forbid it might happen take a tumble down a flight of stairs, I'm very confident nothing would happen to the AX8 nestled inside. It's also only $29. 20170622_171658 (1).jpg 20170622_171716 (1).jpg

Certainly not the answer for everyone, but it's the answer for me.
