Global blocks included?

Global Blocks are on the roadmap but didn't make it into the release firmware. It's a VERY difficult thing to implement correctly.

Good enough for me! You guys have proven yourselves to be worthy of trust, unlike most companies with product roadmaps. Thanks for the direct reply!

On the "what's gone" page link it shows the USB adapter mode is gone.

The Wiki says about the USB adapter mode:

USB Adapter Mode (Axe-Fx II)
"The Axe-Fx II can be used as an USB-to-MIDI interface to update the firmware on the MFC-101, using Fractal-Bot.
This has not been implemented on the Axe-Fx III."

Will we still be able to connect the Axe FXIII by usb to our computer and update with Fractal Bot in the same way we have been doing?

Yes, that Axe-Fx FW updates is unchanged and same as for FW upgrade on Axe-Fx II.
For Axe-Fx III, there will be no need for foot controller updates as the "intelligence" for the new FC series is all inside the Axe-Fx III. No software or firmware on the new foot controllers.

are you planning to update an MFC with the Axe-Fx III? that's what the USB-to-MIDI example is saying.

Thanks! That answered my question.

I'm asking this question for information, and not to be in any way provocative or controversial, but aren't many IRs captured using microphones that are "baked in" to the resulting IR, thus rendering the separate mic sim superfluous? The Cab block in the Axe III can effectively mix up to 4 IRs and there are going to be 2048 factory IRs to start with, plus as many user IRs if you have them?

Please explain what the benefits are, apart from having to audition fewer IRs? Can one not achieve the same results simply using a preferred IR and EQ?
Yes but it's a way to correct some irs and have then sound less flat.
Of course @FractalAudio could share the actual mics eq equivalences for us to emulate that on the iii
