Getting sound, but amp models not working in Logic Pro x

Hey everyone,
I'm new here, and not so great with technology. I have Axe Fx 2 XL and a 2011 MacBook Pro. Operating system is up to date. I believe I have all needed drivers downloaded, and Logic Pro X is recognizing the Axe Fx. Sound IS coming through, but I hear nothing but clean guitar. Even toggling through all the different models, the sound barely changes...as in no effects, overdrive, etc.
I can't anything clear about what is going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the axe acting as your soundcard? And if so what input is selected on the track you're recording to?

There are options for tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 1&2, or 3&4. I get the same result with every option. It says on the track selection tab that "my instrument is connect with: Axe Fx". As far as the axe fx acting as the sound card...how do I find that out?

go into your in/out options on yerAxe and confirm that USB output is assigned to Output 1, not input 1
