Getting a DS-2 sound....any tips?

Hey all. Anyway to tweak an existing drive block to get a DS-2 sound? I'm going through a little Nirvana phase....must be a quarter life crisis.....

Which DS-2 mode? I or II?

I am guessing II for the Nirvana stuff, but it is only a guess. The II mode is nastier, no? And the I mode is more similar to the DS-1?

I think he barely used the thing...guessing he used it a little on "in utero", but mostly live in that period. The only recording I know for a fact that he used it is on "the man who sold the world" from live in NY.

Guessing you can get close with the dist+ model? At work now so can't check, but I think so. I had a DS2 and it was very bright with little or no sustain.
