General Strategies and A/B Switching Devices to Match FRFR to Physical Amp

I’ve been thinking about this after seeing @ccroyalsenders comment last week about how most people who think they aren’t happy with FRFR usually run the FRFR against a real amp to fine tune and then never go back to amps again because the sounds get so close.

So I’m interested in two things...

1. Strategies on the best way to dial in a Fractal preset for FRFR when comparing side by side to a real amp (for example do you start with basic AX8 amp settings and match the physical amp‘s knobs, speaker, etc). I’m really looking for the best places to start as all the AX8 advance tweaking options can be overwhelming. Do you tweak at loud volumes or moderate volumes? Try to use similar IRs / speakers? Etc, etc...

2. What do you recommend for A/B switching? I was going to buy an ABY pedal, but also realized this could be done through different routing presets on the AX8 and simply using different presets (one routed to FRFR, and one with the amp and cab blocks bypassed and routed to a real amp using Output 2 using the FXL block).

Let me know what you guys recommend. Thanks!
