FX8 + Mesa/Boogie Roadster 4CM Hum

Hi!

So as the title says, I am running an FX8 in 4CM through a Mesa/Boogie Roadster combo (using both relays on the FX8 to switch between the 4 channels on the Mesa). I'm getting a nasty hum on the high gain channels which isn't there if I just plug straight into my amp. I'm thinking I need some humbucker cables but I'm not exactly sure how many I need or where to put them. Do I only need them in and out of the effects loop? or just out the FX8 to front of amp and then out of FX8 to back of am? or in and out of effects loop and out FX8?

IDEALLY, each output (pre and post) coming from your FX8 should be humbusters with the TRS end in FX8.

Yep. May want to try using humbuster cables. If you're even marginally capable with a soldering iron, they're very easy to make. To make two humbuster cables, you'd just need:
- TRS cables (2)
- TS cable (1)
- wire cutters
- soldering iron
- solder
- heatshrink and heat gun (optional; you could use electrical tape)

Or you could just order a couple from Fractal ;)
