FX8 - do I or don't I?

Have seen an FX8 MkI for sale locally (attractively priced). I don't have a lot of experience with Fractal stuff. What I did experience was good though.

Tempted to plunge in and grab this FX8.

Cons - a legacy product and no longer a candidate for updates
Fractal could release a future FX only box!

Pros - apparently stellar effects!

Do I plunge in on a discontinued product or wait to see what's next from Fractal?

p.s would not necessarily use it in 4CM. can it be used straight out to the front of 2 amps?
 
As I have opined here before, the FX8 continues To maintain it’s value, and I am not the only one who has kept one while selling /upgrading all the other FAS products, as it is still a best choice for pairing with Real amps and ....Modular synth setups.....!

I do have regular amps but in this case it's for direct in to an audio interface for recording. So in conjunction with an amp modeler. Which at the moment is a Strymon Iridium. Running in stereo.

Still reading that wiki page which is helpful.
