John, I'm exactly the same as you, I've made a quantum leap from a Line 6 M3 multi effects pedal to the FX8 and it's like drinking from a fire hose. There's a hell of a lot to learn but this forum is great for sorting issues out and there's no shortage of folks ready to help. The FX8 is an awesome piece of kit so stick with it; when you've got it sussed you'll never go back.
