I'm on my way down the rabbit hole, searching for my favourite amp for hard rock/metal rhythm stuff and trying out the new OwnHammer 412 Marshall Mix Modern IRs. I recorded a little riff in two takes (panned hard left / right) which I will reamp with different patches / amps. Here's the first recording containing 4 amp / cab combis:
The riff repeats 4 times. These are the amps and IRs for each repetition:
1. 5153 Red OH MAR V30-EN SS STD MDRN
2. 5153 Red OH MAR V30-EN SS LIVE MDRN
3. DAS METALL OH MAR V30-EN SS STD MDRN
4. CA3+ RHY OH MAR V30-EN SS STD MDRN
I intend to do more reamping with other amps soon, these were just the ones I tried out tonight.
So, which one sounds best to you?
BTW this is all just Amp and Mono Hires Cab with no additional effects / EQs / postprocessing.
