I'm still at the very early stages of discovery with the Axe-FX and I'm still spinning through the presets and trying things out. This evening I stumbled upon the "Nuclear Tone" preset and this massive grin spread across my face, so much so that I wanted to grab what it sounded like. My recordings are far from good demos of the Axe-FX, but I'm finding them so easy to do now as the Axe-FX makes it so easy. I'm using a trial of Reaper for now, which I'm almost certainly going to pay for as recording little snippets is quite good fun and I've not done it before.
Anyway, "Nuclear Tone" preset, drive backed off a little and the dynamic presence pushed a smidge. Recorded with a Fender '52 RI Telecaster. I'm playing the outro solo from Everybody Wants To Rule The World by Tears for Fears; well, it's the version I play live with my band Total80s. It's good to know that the clams are in the same place on the recording as when I do it live...
