Fractal Pitch Block Appreciation Thread.

On FW 27.02 but honestly the Pitch Block has been great for a long time. Thank you Fractal Audio. The video is of our band covering the Winger tune, Headed For A Heartbreak. We get a lot of mileage out of the "Dual Diatonic" algo with this tune and I think the Axe-Fx III really shines. For a quick view, you can scroll to the outro solo around the 3:19 and again around 4:37 for the Pitch Block utilizations. At 3:19 the Pitch Block is on by way of the selected scene and swelled in using the Volume Block, and at the 4:37 mark it's brought in using a momentary button on the board while in the scene used for the two solo's. One thing to note. I've tried this with an H90 and was unable to eliminate the interval step when bending the notes per what's done at the 3:19 mark. It could be my skill set with the H90 that prevented success but in comparison, the Fractal Pitch Block is super smooth during the bends here and the harmony voice doesn't jump intervals when the bent melody note approaches a new diatonic pitch. It smoothly glides through them in a very natural sounding way.

Signal Path: Guitar> GLXD14R Shure Wireless>Axe-Fx III for Volume Block and any Pre FX>Axe-FX Output 3>Synergy SYN2 using the SLO2 module>Fryette PS2A for power amp flavor and converting back to line level>Axe-FX III Input 3>Output 1 to stage wedges, Output 2 to FOH

In the rack. Axe-FX III for any and all FX, two Synergy SYN2's with Synergy OS, Freidman HBE, Synergy Plexi and Soldano SLO II modules and a Fryette Power Station PS2A. Pedalboard is a RJM Mastermind 22 and two Fractal EV-1 expression pedals.

sounds awesome. That outro solo by Reb is an all time favorite of mine. My only critique is need more volume from your rhythm player.

Do you share your presets? Great job.
Hi Chris. Thank you! I’d be happy to share the preset. It will give the parameters for the pitch block, delay etc but the amp tone is third party through the I/O 3 loop so it will be a silent preset when it’s imported. If that’s still of interest I’ll upload it this evening.

That purple sparkle Suhr modern looks amazing! You play very well.
When Petrucci had that Fuchsia Sparkle Majesty and then some of the EBMM Luke's I got the itch but just recently scratched it. I always thought they looked like bass boats but man when the lights hit them they're really something else. I haven't had this one very long but it plays like a dream and is loaded with the Suhr DSH+ in the bridge and DSH in the neck. My first experience with the DSH pups but it's been a great experience so far. Thanks so much OrganicZed!
