The Fractal pedals are excellent, but if you need something quickly I recommend Dunlop's (X) pedals. I have two of their "Mini" pedals and they work well. They're not as rugged as Fractal's and Fractal's have a bit more weight so they won't easily be shifted around by a patch cord.Guys, I have been waiting for a Fractal Expression Pedal but they seem to be discontinued... My vendor in Mexico says that they have requested them but they haven´t supplied them for a long time.
They are terrible - Mine broke twice in a year. Switched to a dunlop dvp4 - no issues. You don't need to use the switch...Just some days ago I was thinking I'd rather switch to an EV-2, to replace my Mission Engineering. Not in love with toeswitches anymore.
Consider me interested and patiently expecting a restock!
I have 3... Never had an issue. They are terrible - Mine broke twice in a year. Switched to a dunlop dvp4 - no issues. I gig it twice a week.
I did contemplate simply doing the setup to activate through motion with the pedal I have, but I don't find the pedal's tension to be ideal for a consistent use for that, even after tightening it as much as I can.You don't need to use the switch...
That is so odd. I have had nothing but excellent performance from the multiple EV's I have. The most solid expression pedals I've ever owned. I won't deny that the Dunlop VolumeX offerings are good too. I own a full size and a mini of those that I've used with Line6 gear, and they're good. But still would give the Fractal EV the edge. They are terrible - Mine broke twice in a year.
Thanks Greg! Which do you consider the best option is? I am looking at an X8 DVP5.... Would that work well? Are these better than the Mission Engineering? I also saw an Mission Engineering EP-1... Which one would you guys recommend? The Fractal pedals are excellent, but if you need something quickly I recommend Dunlop's (X) pedals. I have two of their "Mini" pedals and they work well. Thanks Karl... I intend to use it more as a Pitch Shifter and Wah... I would love your opinion on the pedals for these purposes. The Mission pedals are...different. If you prefer the feel of a wah pedal then those might be your thing. I don't. The DVP4 and DVP5 feel more like expression pedals to me and have a smooth travel. They do, however, have a log taper like a volume pedal so that could be an issue for you if so.
Mission or Dunlop? The Dunlop are fine as long as you're okay with the log taper. It's not my preference, but it works. Thanks Karl... I intend to use it more as a Pitch Shifter and Wah... I would love your opinion on the pedals for these purposes.
I get that... I use spring loaded EP-1s for Wah and Whammy with auto engage and they work great for that.I did contemplate simply doing the setup to activate through motion with the pedal I have, but I don't find the pedal's tension to be ideal for a consistent use for that, even after tightening it as much as I can.
Not having the full range because of the switch doesn't sit well with me, either.
So then they're really not great expression pedals for linear control, which is what you want for an expression pedal. The Mission pedals are...different. If you're used to Crybaby / Dunlop Wah pedal they are virtually identical.I'm not a fan of the Mission offerings. I don't like the way they feel and their limited travel. Maybe something has changed since I last used them?

Same. Two EV-2’s with not a single issue. And I’m hard on them.Same here. I use two EV1s and they're rock solid. No complaints at all here.
