For the Iron Maiden tribute band I'm in, I use the CA3+ Clean with a Block 90 Phaser in front. Sounds great!

The post EQ is not the same as presence and depth. Those are located in the power amp circuit, the post EQ is not.

I think the Fractal model uses the presence and depth controls for a post preamp EQ vs. the virtual power amp, for this particular model.

Unless Cliff states that, I doubt it. There is a power amp baked into the model as well, and it wouldn't make sense to remove the functionality of the presence and depth controls.

The closest might be the 3-Band Passive in the Amp and then set it Pre-Power Amp ?

My bad. At any rate setting the presence to 7 and depth to 6 sounds really good. Check this out though for the global eq:

I highly recommend this for Bass.

If you split your signal with the crossover for a classic bi-amp setup:

• let the CAE handle everything above 250-300Hz
• let any of the bass amp models cover below 250-300Hz
• you will get a massive yet crunchy bass that can cut through the mix and not stomp on the drums either

Which channel are you using? Are you using a cab IR with it?

The IR's I pair with the CAE-3 are: F032, F054, F128, F130.

So far the clean channel and lead channel give cool results with this approach.
