footwitch not turning wah on /off

I put a wah in front of the amp and assigned an lfo as a controller for an autowah, sounds great but I assign it to a footwswitch and the footswitch doesnt turn it on and off.. Is this becasue im controlling it with lfo? how can I acconplish this so I can switch the effect on when I want it and turn it off when Im done/

What parameter are you assigning the footswitch to? “Bypass,” right?
