Foot screw does not want to come out

Anyone had any luck getting a stripped screw out? I’ve tried everything short of drilling into it, which I don’t want to do.

And you would be right in not doing that! I would contact support, see what they have to say as nothing was mentioned in the post other than what is planned going foward.

Now, this is me (If I had no other choice) taking the bottom of the case off would be the way to go about it. It would be the safest and most effective way as to not risk the internals which are pretty close to the holes.

Just out of couriousity I looked at the screws that I took off both units I have and a few of them had a small amount of RED thread locker on them. That's the color you use when you don't want a screw to be removed at all. I guess I was lucky that there wasn't more on the screw. Best way to remove a screw that has thread locker on it is to use heat, so a hairdryer or heat gun used spairingly! But that's if you already know you have that issue.

Once the head of the screw has been broke off, I belive removing the case bottom is going to be the best option. Adding heat to the area before removing the broken screw, grab on to it with a pair of small vice grips and remove it from the back side of the case. That said If there isn't enough screw body on the back side to grab on to to remove it then, drill and tap to the next size or using a different location using the same size hole and thread pitch (M3) is going to be the next option.

This post is mostly me thinking out loud with years of experionce behind it doing this type of work so please take that with a grain of salt! Some may not have the tools, ability or confidence to do this in which case you probably leave that to someone that can.

I was finally successful trying many different screwdriver sizes. I also used a vise grip to try and loosen it a bit beforehand.

Can the screws be kept off permanently so that the VP4 can be mounted flat on a pedalboard or do they need to stay on?

Threads are heating up and could seize when turning too fast. Def take it slow.

Once you gall the threads you’re toast and can snap the head.

That’s exactly what it sounded like. Rather than no Loctite, using the blue one would be a good choice. For those of you trying to get the screws out, heating them with a soldering iron will soften the Loctite. (Apologies if this has already been covered, as I didn’t read every message)
We discovered today that manufacturing was using Loctite on the screws for the feet, which should NOT be the case.
Going forward, this will not happen.
