FM9 foot-switch layout and functions be programable by the FX III

Will the FM9 foot-switch layout and functions be programable via the FX III, by selecting FC Controllers in Axe Edit.
If so would there be an additional option to select FM-9 from the 'Show As', option or would it be by using the FC-12 option which would show only 9 switches?
 
Probably not because you need to adjust the switches on the device itself.

The FM9 is not a controller for the Axe3 so there wouldn’t be an “FM9 view” in Axe-Edit.

If you mean you want to setup FM9 switches in advance on the Axe3 and later export them to the FM9, then just setup switches 1-9.
 
The FM9 is not an FC, so it won’t show up as one on the Axe-Fx III. Both the Axe-Fx and the FM9 are designed to be the master of the FCs.
 
It would be a cool option, if even possible? Use the FM9 in 'FC9 mode' to control your Axe-Fx III via Faslink. Then switch it back to FM9 mode as a backup if the Axe-Fx III experiences an issue.

It would be cool, but how would you hook it up? The FM9 would need a second (and male) FASLink port that’s programmed to send FASLink commands.

Very true:oops:. The FM9 is meant to connect to other FCs.

Maybe it could be done through midi? But a lot of Axe-Fx/FC functions (Control switches, etc..) are not currently possible via midi. All of that would have to be opened up to midi control first.

Thars what I was getting at. It would be great to design presets in the III including foot-switch assignments, and then export the to the FM9.

Ah, now I get it.

Footswitch assignments are saved on a system backup, and system backups aren't portable between different devices. You might be able to get by with per-preset switches.
