RELEASE NOTES

VERSION 1.00.03
February 7, 2022

Current FM9 Firmware Version: 1.00

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  • Mac version requires OS version 10.7 or newer
  • Windows version requires Windows 7 or newer
  • Minimum firmware version 1.00

NEW IN THIS VERSION

* Support for firmware 2.00 public beta
o Updated the SETUP / TUNER layout.

* Modified the INPUT layout so that the Auto Impedance displays the dynamic impedance from the device.

* Corrected a bug that disabled the Block menu's Copy and Cut commands when the Scene Manager was enabled.

* Modified the detection of an in-use MIDI port between Fractal Audio System applications. Requires the following minimum version numbers to coordinate in-use device detection: Fractal-Bot 3.00.13, Axe-Edit 1.10.07, FM3-Edit 1.05.04, and FM9-Edit 1.00.03.

After working with it some more, it is better than 1.0.2, but there are still comms issues with presets having above 65% cpu usage, and the FC Layouts and Per Preset Switches tabs sometimes are very slow to load or don't load at all for presets around the 70% mark.

I noticed when I'd pull up the amp block to have a look at it's settings it would sometimes take a while for the screen to update/show the parameter settings. Most of my presets dwell on the high 70, low 80 percent range. Still more workable for me than the v1.0.2 editor. I noticed the same thing on the FC layouts as well. I'm looking forward to getting into the new goodies in the v2 firmware.

I believe the problem is in the FM9, hence the talk about optimizing code.

Have made the transition to v 1.00.3. Slight lag time (< 0.75 s) when switching between presets still exists. CPU usage may be a factor. Will try to put together a test case scenario utilizing high CPU usage preset and estimate delay time vs. a lower CPU usage preset.

Code optimization may indeed play a larger role in this as well. Will at least try to eliminate CPU usage as a factor with my test case. Will set to work on this either later this evening or Wednesday (02/09)

Looking at the Cab picker, I see the S designation for standard IR's but I do not see a U for Ultrares cabs. Is this a problem with this version of FM9 edit?

Ok I am new to this world of Fractal, a jump from the helix. Ive tried several times to install the 2.0 however the same 1.0 keeps installing. Also there is a preset from downloads Im trying to get, it will not load rather says its in the "edit buffer"? Where is that?

I'd suggest posting a new thread about your issues rather than this thread which is about the editor and not the firmware.
