I know… Old non-turbo FM3 seems to be obsolete very soon and FAS starts go like Apple way. Some presets I could not adjust at all, even with zero Dispersion. But I still love FAS and will keep my old device. Agree with previous firmware option, as it is possible to perform.

I recommend you try the factory presets the new ones as they have kept those under or just at the limit
You may find the amps you like and a good selection of fx in there that will run fine on the unit
I have FM9 but it was similar I had to remove blocks or cut in a few places once the new factory presets came out , I loaded them up and was good to go

Alternately you could post some presets and ask for help in optimizing them.

Lots a smart and helpful folks here might help you out.

So out of Reverb block and Disperacy setting, are there any other significant new CPU “eaters” to take a look at?
 
With 10.0 beta all my presets are 'CPU limit exceeded', even the ones with only a few blocks, like Wah, Drive, Amp, Cab, Chorus (basically any MOD effect), Delay and Reverb.

That's are the minimum amount of blocks I need in a preset. Actually I also need a comp for clean and a pitch/octaver.

I'm gonna stick with version 9.02 if my FM3 turbo doesn't even run the basic preset blocks in firmware 10.

Post a preset... That doesn't seem right.

For the reverb it’s not just dispersion you also need to lower the echo density. I went through 2 of my main presets and they’re fine after adjusting the reverb. I don’t use compression so that makes it easier for me.
 
I have a question, are the gift of tone presets included in these new factory presets? Will they just load or how do I go about getting them all en masse

Any recommendations for echo density acceptable value? I have set on 8.
 
Damn that's a crazy massive update. Can't wait to get home and try it out tonight. Thanks for everything you do Fractal! Sometimes the wait is long for the FM3 updates, but it's always worth it.
 
Thanks Fractal team for the new updates! Plenty to try out and test to see what I like. From some of the comments above about the increase in CPU usage I am glad I got the VP4 to partner up with my FM3. I use in insert mode and can see what difference it makes to the CPU% for either pre or post effects. Some fun testing for V10b lays ahead :cool:
