FM3 FAQ

Rex, to clarify, - If I use the adapter and use the USB that does work (as it does with the iMac), then is it possible to control with Output 2.
Help me understand your question. Do you want to send incoming USB audio to Output 2?

Yes - so I could adjust volume of backing tracks on iPhone/iPad. TIA!

From the manual:

Alternatively, you could play computer audio through Output 1, and adjust playback level with the Setup > I/O > USB > USB 1/2 knob.

Thanks, Rex - appreciate! I will definitely explore this some more. If I get stuck or have further questions, can I get back to you? (I have to get my new AustinBuddy presets going and take my guitar in for some work this morning...)

Sure. But if you do, then start a new thread and let me know that you’ve done it. That way, we can unhijack this thread. :)

I wanted to get an UA Apollo too but I love the converters of the FM3 so much that I know use it as my main audio interface. Sounds amazing!
Is it OK if it's on for long hours, i.e. 5-6 hours straight?
Usually when I'm not playing guitar, I just load an empty preset to keep the processor cool.
Thanks FAS!

HI.
Is there a way to SELECT all PRESETS that comes with a LOOP BLOCK in FM3?
I recorded a song into a preset few days ago.
I cannot remember the name of the preset
Now I am trying to find it. But, cannot find it.
Thanks any help!

I haven't tried an iPad specifically, but my iPhone works great.
Hola....se puede conectar un smartphone por USB al fm3 Para reproducir un MP3 de acompañamiento y también para monitoreo desde el FOH

yes - from the FAQ:

How do I play along with songs and backing tracks?
It’s easy! You can connect your iOS, Android, PC, or Mac via USB and play through the FM3 audio device. Note that you may want to go to SETUP:I/O : USB and turn down the level initially for USB 1/2.

Can the USB-A port behind the FM3 use for powering LED lights? Just wondering if I’d build a fancy looking pedalboard.
My speculations:
No power is enabled on USB-A port and probably never will since Axe FXIII does not have USB-A.
Unless, Axe FX IV will have that port build in. It then could be used for example for BT dongle to enable wireless editing on tablet, then that feature could trickle down from the flagship unit to FM3.

Another question about resetting the amp block when a newer FW is in use and I wanna use preset, that was made with older FW.

Can I take a snapshot, then change amp model and go back to the original model (aka reset) and paste snapshot? This would be a quick way to do it, but is it the right way?

That would be like taking a picture of your dog, turning the dog into a cat, and replacing the cat with the picture of your dog. It's still a dog. :)

I’ve used my FM3 connected to my Scarlett Solo interface. But yesterday I wanted to try using FM3 as my main interface and connected my studio monitors in output 2.

PROBLEM:
No audio from Macbook. So FM3 isn’t working as audio interface for some reason. FM3 Edit works fine and I can find FM3 from mac’s audio out/in settings. I can play guitar and get the guitarsound out, but as said the audio interface part doesn’t work atm.

Any tips how to troubleshoot?
