Hello, I have just loaded the fm3 editor onto a new laptop with the current drivers and cannot get the fm3 edit to show “ connected “ When I go to settings /preferences, it doesn’t even show the fm3 on the “ port” yet my laptop sees that I am connected through the usb. Any ideas?

Me too. I installed the usb serial driver and audio driver, then FM3 edit.
The fm3 audio control panel shows that driver ver 5.30 is installed + the buffer settings but ASIO is not active.
When I open FM3 edit it's not connected,
The release notes for t current FM3 Edit say it works w all firmware.
Restarted no help.
Uninstalled + reinstalled FM3 Edit _ same thing
No connection.

Not the same thing exactly but I am having to make multiple attempts to connect lately. Where I open the editor and it hangs. I end the task and retry. After 2-3 tries on average it hooks up. I have the latest drivers and firmware. It was only 1 retry for awhile but it’s getting worse. Still works though.

Current FM3 edit does require ver 2, firmware _ I misspoke _ but I'm at ver.4,0
Anyway _ after I tried 8 different cables + all the ports
I finally looked at 'settings' / preferences + opened up the port dropdown /
There it was FM3 /
I'm all set !!!

I was just typing that suggestion for you.
For others reporting possible problems, another good data point that can help us to help you is whether you can get Fractal-Bot to connect to the FM3, as indicated by three green checks in Step 1.
