RELEASE NOTES

VERSION 1.03.00
February 18, 2021

Current FM3 Firmware Version: 3.02

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  • Mac version requires OS version 10.7 or newer
  • Windows version requires Windows 7 or newer
  • Minimum firmware version 1.00

NEW IN THIS VERSION

PLEASE NOTE:

Starting with firmware 2.00, FM3-Edit 1.02.00 (or greater) is required to communicate with the FM3.
Previous versions of FM3-Edit (versions 1.01.10 or less) will not work with firmware 2.00 or greater.
FM3-Edit 1.02.00 (or greater) will continue to work with all previous firmware versions.

* Support for firmware 3.02:

o Updated CONTROLLERS layout.

o Corrected FILTER layout for "FB Comb" and "FF Comb".

o Updated GATE layout.

o Updated PITCH layout.

o Updated SETUP layout's "Config" page with "EQ Type".

o Added "Display Mode" and "Downtune" to the SETUP - Tuner page.

o Updated the "FC Controllers" "FC Config" dialog.
  • Added "Footswitch Tuner Mode" (requires firmware 3.02 or greater)
  • Added "Mini Display" options Contrast and Brightness.

o Added Perform view to display the controls found on firmware 3.02 "Perform-PP" and "Perform-Gbl" HOME screen tabs.
  • Each of the Performance sections can be configured with up to 10 user-selected controls from any of the blocks found in the preset (including Controllers and Global Settings). Configuration of the Perform tabs are done via FM3-Edit. Allowable controls include rotary knobs, slider controls (which are displayed as rotary knobs), push-buttons, drop-downs, and toggle controls (e.g., on/off controls).
  • The editor's Perform view is accessed via the "Perform" button or the Tools / Performance menu.
  • Performance controls are assigned via drag-and-drop from a block's parameter view to the Perform view. To assign a block's parameter to the Perform view, click on the control's label and drag the control to the desired Perform configuration. (To assign a Perform control from the CONTROLLERS Sequencer, right-click on the Sequencer control and choose the location from the pop-up menu.)
  • Assigned controls within the Perform view can be drag-and-dropped to new locations. The Perform view supports the SWAP and MOVE operations similar to the Grid.
  • Each Performance control has two labels. To change the text of any Performance Control label, double click it. To reset the label to its default text use the "Reset Label" button.
  • To remove a Performance control, select the control and press the DELETE key.
  • The "Per-Preset Performance Controls" are stored per-preset. Adding or removing a control from this area will change the EDIT state of the preset.
  • The "Global Performance Controls" are stored in the Global Settings. Adding or removing a control from this area automatically saves the control to the Global Settings.
  • The "Per-Preset Performance Controls" can be saved-to and loaded-from the Block Library using the arrow control in the "Per-Preset Performance Controls" title.
  • When the Perform view is visible, the main effect editor's controls are disabled to allow for drag-and-drop assignment to the Perform view.

* Modified the PEQ layout to hide the Q control when the Type is set to "Blocking".

* The "Available Devices" dialog is displayed if more than one FM3 device is connected and powered on when launching the application.
o When connecting to a device from the "Available Devices" dialog, the Presets and User Cabs of the selected device will always be queried regardless of the options selected in the Preferences dialog.
o On Windows, if you have more than one FM3 connected and powered on but the "Available Devices" dialog is not shown when the editor is launched, please check the "FM3 USB Audio Device Control Panel" applet in the System Tray. If the applet's Status tab does not show a dropdown in the "USB Audio Device", then the USB driver has not loaded both devices. Please disconnect and reconnect one of the device's USB cables until both devices are shown in the applet. If the applet does not "see" the devices then the editor will not see them either.

* Modified the Block Library's "Save" and "Save As" functionality to display a prompt to overwrite an existing block if the entered name matches an existing block library entry.

* The "Preset Leveling" panel has been given a hotkey to toggle its view state. (Mac: Command+L . Windows: Ctrl+L)

* Added the ability to name the FM3 device from the SETUP Config page using the "Device Name" field.
o The editor will display the device name under the "Connected!" icon, found in the upper-left hand portion of the window.
o The FM3 will display the device name in the upper-left hand corner of the HOME screen. If the editor's name field is empty then the HOME screen will display the default "FM3".
o The "Available Devices" dialog will also display each connected device's name when set.

* Added a "Recent Presets" submenu to the top-level Presets menu. This menu is also available by Ctrl+Clicking (Windows) or Command+Clicking (macOS) the Presets button. This menu holds up to 10 of the most-recently-used presets and is saved/loaded between invocations of the editor.

* Added the assigned Filter Colors from the Amp and Cab picker to the Manage Presets and Manage Cabs window.

* Added Next and Previous search buttons to the Manage Presets and Manage Cabs windows.

* Added a Browser toggle button to show/hide the Browser pane in the Manage Presets and Manage Cabs windows.

* Updated internal Fractal-Bot to version 3.0.8.

this one is super cool! now i have a personalized FM3 :O if you have a band with multiple FM3's, after they're powered on, you can see if you have the right one ;)

This would be killer. Not seeing the invert. No biggie if it isn't added now. But a cool upcoming feature perhaps? Or I'm blind :D

I just named my unit! Nice! Very cool stuff added. Thank you very much!

@BryantP just a little bug in FM3-Edit :
Add a "per-preset" Performance Page parameter, then clear the preset, the parameter is still displayed, at least its label

FM edit is not showing the correct payload for CS midi. It will only display the payload for CS1 correctly, while displaying the CS1 value when you select the other switches or not displaying any payload for other switches.

However, payload is correctly loaded into FM3

The links for the FM-edit beta downloads don't seem to be working. If I click on any of them, it just takes me back to this page.

All of the other FW and Edit links work.

Any ideas?
