Give it a try, most people say it is working. But make sure the startup page in your FC Controllers Config dialogue box in editor is set to Layout page 8 for the FM3 OMG or FM3 alone version. When will the foot controller files be compatible. im new so I don't know the exact terms but you load the FC3 file or whatever so you can us the control switch I read back a long ago that you won't have a fixed version until there's another release of Cygnus I.e like Cygnus 4.1? am I correct or can I go ahead and install the file that came with the Austin buddy betas
Hey ABuddy, for the Amp Boost controller switch, what is the difference between boosting with the CS vs. using a Drive block? Is it just a matter of where in the signal the boost gets applied? Because I didnāt realize until last week how you can change the type of Amp boost CS that gets applied. Also, in terms of Amp Boost CS volume, is anything above 0dB considered a boost?
This might be a silly question. But is the Amp Boost the same exact thing as a drive block? Or is there something dynamically different? Like if I set the AmpBoost to TS808 Mod, is it the same exact thing as just using that drive pedal in front of the amp?You can get similar results using a drive block BUT you add CPU, so why do that, save the CPU and use the "drive block" built into the amp block. I like clean boosts. Yes, anything above 0db does that - it hits the first preamp tube harder (splat) than 0db. So db amounts can vary based on type of boost. A Clean boost for a clean sound probably needs to be under 4db else it breaks up (amp dependent). You can always try the 12db default bu I find it's too much for some amps, so I try to customize it by amp type. Usually I'm around 8 db boost - it phaetons up but not so much that the bass goes mush, But it can vary, and I do vary it by LiveGold preset. Experiment!
No because you cannot control any drive controls in the amp block. Just the amount of boost, thatās it. No gain, no EQ.This might be a silly question. Besides fewer controls, I think the amp block boosts only amplify and apply some sort of fixed EQ curve that's different for each boost type. This might be a silly question. I am using my ears. On the FM3, one cab alone sometimes sounds better than blending two cabs. It all depends on what I am trying to get to sonically.Question on the preset cabs - how come a lot of these have two cabs but one is muted?
Thanks. I also like to say I am a Fractal-evangelist who is democratizing great tone for everyone! šYou are the Tone Preacher! Lol thank you again
Try the older provided layout (or better yet, the one you saved for yourself). It should work. Some people reported issues with IMG9 and FM3 to me, but they seem to not be universal, and mine works fine on Fw 3 and Fw4. One thing, on a firmware reset, you need ot make sure in global FC settings that the correct "Master Layout page" (I think it's 8) is set right. A new firmware install sometimes can re-set that value and people think the layout is wrong, when in fact it just changed the Maser Layout page assignment. Set it back and good to go. Let us know?In the July update of the TonePack the layout files are missing - "FM3 Layouts - Not yet Available for Public FW4.x - Bug Issue Fractal must fix first".
Does anyone know exactly what the issue is? I rely on a modded version of the FW3.x layouts and don't like surprises![]()
Sure. Just go into the FootControllers and in the preset or scene mode for āHoldā replace the boost/(kicker coil actually) with that ever you want in Hold. Then copy and paste that to the other switches. With the OMG9, currently a hold press on any switch on the FC-6 when in scene mode will only toggle CS2. is there a way I can globally have a long press on say FC-6 switch 1 toggle the drive block on/off, or delay on/off?
