FM3 as FC-3 foot controller

I'm considering buying an FM3 as a flying rig and backup to my Axe FX III. I'm wondering if it would be possible to make the FM3 function as a foot controller for the Axe FX III together with an FC6? I'm thinking I can manage with 9 buttons on both Axe FX and FM3, so that would be a nice way to keep my flyrig compact and have enough buttons to stomp on for both units.

I agree that would be an awesome option! For some gigs, I'd fly with my Axe III and the FM3 only (instead of FC6) -- trading 3 footswitches for a backup rig, just in case.

You could use the FM-3 to control the Axe-FX III using the MIDI output, but not the FasLink, because the FasLink of the FM-3 acts as a receiver, not as a controller.

I'm also interested in this option,
I have an Ax3 without a foot controller, and the price of an FM3 and a Fc-12 is very similar.
I have many presets that reach the CPU limitation, I have thought that you could even reduce CPU by connecting them in series and making a part of the preset in FM3 and another in AXE3.

Is anyone using this system and can share the experience?
Thanks in advance.
