FM3 as Audio Interface, some questions

So I didn't want to jump in on someone elses thread about FM3 as AI. So, I will ak here.
I record vocals, not just guitars. Since the FM3 does NOT have preamps for vocals what do most of you folks do?

Run an external preamp to input 1 or 2, have an inline preamp (such as a cloudlifter and a 48v phantom power supply), or if you have a smaller mic you could potentially get away with plugging straight in. Best results are with the first and second options however.

If your mic doesn't need phantom power, you can get good results going straight into the FM3.
