[fixed] Output 2 level 4.0.0 b1

Hey!

Because there is no post regarding out 2 ... there is something weird going on with out 2:
  • out 2 volume is decreased
  • a preset from 3.0.x leveld to hit 0db at a out 2 block is now clipping like hell and i had to reduce out 2 to around -11db to avoid clipping
  • no copy out 1/2 functions are in use, so it's the naked out 2 behavior which is somehow broken
Mentioned multiple times in the 4.0.0 b1 thread by different users.

Edit: 4.0.0 b2 is different, but still buggy - reports of other users:
Edit: 4.0.0 b3 is acting like b2, nothing changed - still broken.

Update: 4.0.0 beta 2 is different, but still broken. Now, i have to push out 2 level for about +18 db to hit the level like in 3.0.2, but it starts clipping much earlier (around +8db).
So, still not usable and completely different compared to 3.0.2

The weird thing: An untouched 3.0.2 preset shows me (meters overview directly on the FM3) 2L/2R around -22db. The out 2 block (on the overview looks good), but on the edit screen, the out 2 block is suuuper low. So i guess, there is something broken between (with) the out 2 block and the real outputs.

I'm getting this, too. I'm using Out 2 as an effects loop and my output is barely audible with Out 1 and Out 2 cranked to the max.

Thanks @unix-guy that sounds like our problem ... somehow :D
What i find really strange: The out 2 block meter (in the overview) indicates a correct level, but the overall level 2L/2R and the detailled block is wrong. Really weird.

I appreciate your reupload but again, the new version also doesn't fix the issue.
Out 2 still clips while being at -12/-13db. With Ares, my out 2 level was around 0 db without clipping.

For me it's that all OUT2 levels suddenly drop by 12-15 dB on update from 4.00b1 to 4.00b3 (new build).
I know that it first dropped a little from 3.02 --> 4.00b1, but now it's just strange.
Rolling back and everything fine. If you want, I can provide a preset and my global settings upload @rglr.

Are you using Out 2 block or Copy?

Out 2 block should be Unity Gain.

Copy Out 1 provides more level than using the block.

I believe there is an issue with Out 2 block in the preset and also selecting Copy Out 1. I’ve reported this to the devs.

I know about the unity stuff. Since 4b1 I usually increase the block level of Out2 (no copy used) by 12 dB, which worked fine. Now with 4b3 I have another drop by 12 dB, which I can‘t compensate for.

My amp levels are usually around +1/2/3 db and out 2 is at 0 db, out 1 around -17/18db - those levels worked perfectly fine since 4.0.0
I don't use a copy function, i have both out 1 and out 2 blocks in the preset, out 2 knob fully clockwise.
3.0.x worked perfectly, the out 2 level madness started with 4.0.0 b1 (for me)

The newest 4.0b3 build does fix the volume issue four Out2 for me, but as soon as I booted it up, I'm getting a sputtering/chirping sound from the fan. Unit is at 102 F. I didn't have any fan issues in beta 1 and I don't think I had any issues with beta 2, but I only had that installed for a minute because of the huge Out 2 volume drop.

But, you need unity gain and not line level, right? Because you also play through the Powerstage 170?
I basically just need the „Line“ option. The PS170 input has enough headroom to handle that, and I don’t have to tinker with the Out2 block. Tested it yesterday, set to -10dBV and works like a charm.
