FASLink question

My FC-6 is mounted on a Temple Audio pedalboard. One feature of this product is a variety of connectors mounted on panels on the sides, so you can plug cables into the side of the pedalboard and wire permanent connections to whatever's mounted on top.
I of course wanted to use this for the FASLink connection to my FC-6, so I purchased an XLR male connector for the side panel. I wired it the standard way - pin 1 hot, pin 2 shield, pin 3 ground. I have verified that it passes audio just like any other XLR cable. I can plug two XLR cables together and FASLink works. But when I try this connector, it doesn't work. The XLR that goes in one end works by itself. The connector passes audio. But not FASLink. I assume there's another connection that needs making, like perhaps shield to connector ground. Please tell me what I need to do to make this connector work.

Dislexia strikes again - I had the + and shield reversed. Re-wired the connection and now all is well. Thanks for the pic.
