I've had my AxeFX for over a year now, but have never really sat down and tweaked it to get the best sound possible. I was running a 5150 or Recto New model with a Catharsis 2off-pres8 IR for the longest time. I researched some and found alot of people liked the 808 driven fas modern, so I experimented with that and made up the following patch.
I have the input gate turned on and a seperate gate after the 808 to tame noise. My guitar uses an EMG 85 in the bridge. I left the threshold dialed back a bit so I can get a little more sustain as I don't really play djenty stuff, but adjust the threshold on those two gates to your taste.
I love the sound I'm getting now. So much more mid heavy in just the right spots, and the low end is tight and tame. Now I just need to work on getting my clean sounds a little better setup. Here's the patch:
